Molina talked to one of them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was scary,\u201d the worker said. \u201cAfter your 14 days, you\u2019re supposed to return back that next day after that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Chicago-area USPS worker is at home right now battling COVID. They believe they got the virus at work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Molina:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cYou believe that a lot of these delays and mail issues are related to positive COVID cases in post offices?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Postal Worker:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They reached out because they say there\u2019s more contributing to the delays than USPS is sharing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometimes we don\u2019t have enough manpower,\u201d the worker said.<\/p>\n<p>And they don\u2019t feel safe at work because, internally, they claim the Postal Service is not sharing enough.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt actually has been zero communication,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p>They claim workers aren\u2019t alerted when a coworker tests positive \u2013 there\u2019s no contact tracing, and there\u2019s little direction for those who have to pick up or split a new route when a worker is out with the virus.
