(CBS)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Spotty mail service has people in the south suburbs fired up \u2013 and worried about the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>They are issues that CBS 2\u2019s Tara Molina first investigated months ago. On Tuesday, she learned that COVID-19 outbreaks inside postal offices could be to blame for these new delays.<\/p>\n<p>In south suburban Riverdale, sometimes the mail comes every few days and sometimes people say they wait weeks.<\/p>\n<p>And with long lines inside the Riverdale Post Office, they say they\u2019re done waiting.<\/p>\n<p>Aquanetta and Jarvis Gutter have been walking the same Riverdale sidewalk for more than 20 years. But recently, they say their mail carrier has not done so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been having a problem with our mail service since about August,\u201d said Aquanetta Gutter.<\/p>\n<p>And she said she is still missing checks, bills, and the special dress she ordered to celebrate her daughter\u2019s engagement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t get the dress,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>With the holidays coming up, she said she doesn\u2019t trust the <a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.cbslocal.com\/2020\/09\/22\/staffing-issues-covid-19-cases-at-postal-service-prompt-concern-about-mail-in-ballots-in-chicago-and-beyond\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Postal Service<\/a> with those cards and packages either.
