The plan will also focus on the Postal Service\u2019s strengths to maximize its prospects for long-term success.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to developing a broader business plan, USPS is taking immediate steps to increase operational efficiency by re-emphasizing existing plans that have been designed to provide affordable, reliable service within existing service standards.<\/p>\n<p>By running operations on time and on schedule, the organization aims to enhance its ability to be sustainable and to be able to continue to provide high-quality, affordable service.<\/p>\n<p>Under federal law, the Postal Service is obligated to provide prompt, reliable and efficient service in a self-sustaining manner.<\/p>\n<p>To meet this obligation, the organization\u2019s management continually reviews its operational practices and makes adjustments as necessary.
