The Postal Service celebrates the many ways we appreciate the natural world with a virtual event on Facebook and Twitter to introduce the Enjoy the Great Outdoors stamps. These Forever stamps will be released June 13 in panes of 20.<\/p>\n

News of the stamps is being shared with the hashtag\u00a0#GreatOutdoorsStamps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These stamps will be available for purchase at Post Office locations nationwide and at\u00a0usps.com\/outdoors<\/a><\/em>.<\/dd>\n

\nIf you choose to watch a virtual Postal Service stamp event through your mobile device:<\/p>\n

  1. Download the Facebook app from your phone\u2019s app store. (If you already have the app, go to step 3.)<\/li>\n
  2. Sign in to your Facebook account.<\/li>\n
  3. In the search box, type USPS.<\/li>\n
  4. Select \u201cPages\u201d and click the \u201cLike\u201d button for \u201cUS Postal Service.\u201d\u00a0(Note: You must \u201cLike\u201d USPS to be able to view the virtual event.<\/em>)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Once you have liked USPS, go to the USPS Facebook page.<\/li>\n
  6. Scroll down the page until you see \u201cPosts.\u201d<\/li>\n
  7. Click on the event.\u00a0(Note: If you are experiencing technical difficulties or the event doesn\u2019t start exactly at the scheduled time and you don\u2019t see the livestream, keep refreshing your page until it becomes available.<\/em>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Background:<\/strong><\/dt>\n
      The Enjoy the Great Outdoors stamps artwork depicts five different scenes of various outdoor activities \u2014 building a sandcastle, hiking, cross-country skiing, canoeing and biking. In these hand-sketched and painted designs, artist Gregory Manchess uses light and shadow to evoke a sense of wonder for these remarkable landscapes. Surrounding the pane of 20 stamps is a painting showing trees and the bank of a body of water. The small figures of a canoe in the water and a man standing ashore holding an oar are visible at the top of the selvage. The title \u201cEnjoy the Great Outdoors\u201d appears right above the pane of stamps in white lettering. Derry Noyes, a USPS art director, designed the stamps.<\/p>\n

      Forever stamps will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
