{"id":28622,"date":"2020-05-02T10:35:23","date_gmt":"2020-05-02T15:35:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=28622"},"modified":"2020-05-02T10:35:23","modified_gmt":"2020-05-02T15:35:23","slug":"hold-mail-changes-usps-modifies-service-during-pandemic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2020\/05\/02\/hold-mail-changes-usps-modifies-service-during-pandemic\/","title":{"rendered":"Hold Mail changes &#8211; USPS modifies service during pandemic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>USPS News Link &#8211; 5\/01\/20 &#8211; The Postal Service has modified its Hold Mail service to assist business customers during the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coronavirus pandemic<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>If a carrier must return mail to a Post Office because the business customer\u2019s box is full or the business isn\u2019t open for an extended period, USPS will hold the mail until May 30.<\/p>\n<p>After May 30, the Postal Service will offer these customers a 15-day grace period before the mail items are returned to sender.<\/p>\n<p>Once the business reopens, delivery should immediately resume unless other arrangements have been made.
