{"id":27519,"date":"2019-10-28T10:15:07","date_gmt":"2019-10-28T15:15:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=27519"},"modified":"2019-10-28T10:15:07","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T15:15:07","slug":"informed-delivery-gets-new-service-electronic-signature-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2019\/10\/28\/informed-delivery-gets-new-service-electronic-signature-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Informed Delivery gets new service &#8211; electronic signature service"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-thumbnail link-fullfeature\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment-twentyfourteen-full-width wp-post-image alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/idSignature_large-story.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/idSignature_large-story.jpg 900w, https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/idSignature_large-story-300x250.jpg 300w, https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/idSignature_large-story-768x640.jpg 768w, https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/idSignature_large-story-102x85.jpg 102w\" alt=\"\" width=\"511\" height=\"426\" \/><\/div>\n<p>USPS News Link &#8211; 10\/28\/19 &#8211; The Postal Service has added an electronic signature service to\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/2019\/07\/12\/informed-delivery-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Informed Delivery<\/a><\/em>\u00a0that removes the need for customers to physically sign for eligible deliveries requiring a signature.<\/p>\n<p>The USPS Electronic Signature Online service allows Informed Delivery customers to use an electronic signature to sign for Priority Mail Express, Signature Confirmation and items insured for $500 or more.<\/p>\n<p>The service, which was added Oct. 7, is only available for Informed Delivery customers.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how USPS Electronic Signature Online works:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Customers will be presented with the option to sign up for Electronic Signature Online within the Informed Delivery application.<\/li>\n<li>Tracking numbers for eligible eSignature mailpieces will appear on the customer\u2019s Informed Delivery \u201cPackages\u201d dashboard.<\/li>\n<li>Once the eSignature is applied, a USPS carrier\u2019s handheld device will receive an alert. The carrier must confirm the address and deliver the mailpiece without obtaining a physical signature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The addition of USPS Electronic Signature Online to Informed Delivery is part of the Postal Service\u2019s efforts to improve efficiency and customer service and reduce failed delivery attempts.<\/p>\n<p>In fiscal 2018 (Oct. 1, 2017-Sept. 30, 2018), there were approximately 253 million failed first delivery attempts that inconvenienced customers and delayed delivery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Questions?
