Brennan and the Postal Service\u2019s bargaining representatives met with leaders of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and the National Postal Mail Handlers Union (NPMHU) at USPS headquarters in Washington, DC.<\/p>\n<p>Negotiations with the NALC, which represents approximately 210,000 employees, began June 26.<\/p>\n<p>Negotiations with the NPMHU, which represents approximately 44,000 employees, began June 27.<\/p>\n<p>The Postal Service\u2019s current contracts with both unions expire Sept. 20.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Postal Service looks forward to productive negotiations with both the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Postal Mail Handlers Union,\u201d said Brennan. \u201cWith each union, we will seek an agreement that is fair to our employees, fair to our customers, recognizes the realities of today\u2019s marketplace and positions the Postal Service for success moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment-twentyfourteen-full-width wp-post-image alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/LaborTalks_large-story.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/LaborTalks_large-story.jpg 500w, https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/LaborTalks_large-story-250x300.jpg 250w, https:\/\/link.usps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/LaborTalks_large-story-71x85.jpg 71w\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"link-caption\">The top photo shows Postmaster General Megan J.
