USPS ranks second on a list of the nation\u2019s best employers in a new survey by Forbes magazine.<\/em><\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<p>USPS News Link &#8211; 6\/11\/19 &#8211; The Postal Service has been named one of the nation\u2019s best employers in a\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/vickyvalet\/2019\/06\/05\/from-alabama-to-wyoming-meet-americas-best-employers-by-state-2019\/#3478395b407d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">survey of 50,000 U.S. workers<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Forbes magazine partnered with market researcher Statista to identify the organizations in each state and Washington, DC, that employees most favored and would likely recommend to others.<\/p>\n<p>USPS ranked second on the list behind the U.S. Department of Defense. Workers in 28 states named the Postal Service a best employer.<\/p>\n<p>Other employers in the top 10 include Marriott International, Target, JPMorgan Chase and UnitedHealth Group.<\/p>\n<p>Respondents were asked to rate, on a scale of 0 to 10, how likely they\u2019d be to recommend their employer to others. They were also asked to nominate organizations in industries outside their own.<\/p>\n<p>The survey indicates having a mission employees believe in is key to a company being considered one of the best places to work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cService \u2014 it\u2019s part of our name. We are here to serve and support our communities,\u201d Jeryl Wilson, the Postal Service\u2019s diversity and talent acquisition director, told Forbes.<\/p>\n<p>Job opportunities were also cited in the report as a reason workers thought favorably of the Postal Service, which offers more than 2,400 career paths.<\/p>\n<p>Said Wilson: \u201cThere are great opportunities for growth, development and advancement within our organization \u2014 those are the things that I think are important for employees to know about.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mail Processing Clerk Cang Le works at the Merrifield, VA, Processing and Distribution Center this year.
