Postal Service employees demonstrated their dedication to their customers as 2018 drew to a close.<\/p>\n

In October, employees\u00a0marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month<\/a><\/em>\u00a0by promoting the Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamp and participating in events at USPS facilities across the nation.<\/p>\n

Employees also\u00a0delivered millions of ballots<\/a><\/em>, voter registration cards, polling place information and campaign materials before the Nov. 6 midterm elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to make sure voters have a chance to look at their mail to make informed choices when voting,\u201d said William Connor, a mail handler at the Detroit Processing and Distribution Center.<\/p>\n

Later in November, the Postal Service\u00a0reported<\/a><\/em>\u00a0its fiscal 2018 year-end financial results and received regulatory\u00a0approval<\/a><\/em>\u00a0to adjust prices for some products and services, beginning early next year.<\/p>\n

The Oct. 1-Dec. 31 period also saw USPS employees respond to a\u00a0hurricane<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in the Southeast,\u00a0wildfires<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in California and an\u00a0earthquake<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in Alaska.<\/p>\n

Additionally, USPS\u00a0honored employees who served in the armed forces<\/a><\/em>\u00a0during Veterans Day ceremonies across the nation, and the organization\u00a0observed a national day of mourning<\/a><\/em>\u00a0to honor former President George H.W. Bush, who died Nov. 30.<\/p>\n

As the holiday season got underway, employees were busy\u00a0delivering an estimated 15 billion pieces of mail and 900 million packages<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour efforts during the holidays help us earn our customers\u2019 trust and loyalty,\u201d Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan wrote in her annual\u00a0holiday message to employees<\/a><\/em>. \u201cAs postal employees, we take great pride in serving our customers at every touch point.\u201d<\/p>\n
