{"id":24974,"date":"2018-12-05T08:22:34","date_gmt":"2018-12-05T13:22:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=24974"},"modified":"2018-12-05T08:22:34","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T13:22:34","slug":"usps-is-reviewing-the-white-house-postal-task-force-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2018\/12\/05\/usps-is-reviewing-the-white-house-postal-task-force-report\/","title":{"rendered":"USPS Is Reviewing The White House Postal Task Force Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>USPS News Link &#8211; 12\/04\/18 &#8211; USPS is reviewing the recommendations of the Trump administration\u2019s task force on the nation\u2019s postal system.<\/p>\n<p>The task force, which was\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/2018\/04\/13\/postal-system-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in April, issued its report Dec. 4.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recommendations contained in the report should be evaluated together with legislative and regulatory reforms to address our urgent financial challenges. Reforms are necessary to enable the Postal Service to further reduce costs, grow revenue, compete more effectively, function with greater flexibility to adapt to a dynamic marketplace, and to prudently invest in our future,\u201d Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Postal Service will remain focused on aggressively managing our business. We will take all appropriate actions within our control to ensure that we can continue to fulfill our primary mission to provide prompt, reliable and efficient service to American businesses and consumers in all communities in our country,\u201d Brennan said.<\/p>\n<p>The Postmaster General also encouraged employees to remain focused on serving customers during the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/2018\/11\/13\/ready-to-deliver-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>busy holiday season<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we continue to work with our stakeholders to address these important public policy matters, it\u2019s important for our employees to focus on their day-to-day work, especially during peak season.
