EDDM-Retail\u2122 makes it possible for small businesses to send Direct Mail (Standard Mail\u00ae flats only) \u2014 Note that the minimum mailpiece size is 3.5 inches high, 5 inches long, and 0.007 inch thick, but to be considered a flat, a piece must exceed at least one of the minimum dimensions noted in the accompanying illustration \u2014 without a permit and without the expense of list purchasing. The mailer must provide enough mailpieces to cover either every active res\u00adidential or every active residential and business combined delivery on one or more carrier routes serviced by the retail office (up to a maximum of 5,000 pieces per mailing). And don\u2019t forget that the entire group of Post Office\u2122 boxes for an office counts as a separate route too!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/EveryDoorDirectMail1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-2281\" title=\"EveryDoorDirectMail\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/EveryDoorDirectMail1-150x150.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All USPS\u00ae retail facilities are required to offer EDDM-Retail for distribution to their own Post Office box sections or associated delivery units.
