USPS issued its first Halloween-themed stamps in 2016.<\/strong>\u00a0The Jack-o\u2019-Lanterns stamps \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/store.usps.com\/store\/product\/buy-stamps\/jack-o-lanterns-S_681404\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>available<\/em><\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0<em>usps.com<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 feature four images of carved pumpkins, a symbol of Halloween in the United States since the late 19th century.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. The Colorful Celebrations stamps feature papel picado.<\/strong>\u00a0These 2016 stamps, another current\u00a0<em>usps.com<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/store.usps.com\/store\/product\/buy-stamps\/colorful-celebrations-S_681004\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>offering<\/em><\/a>, showcase an intricate art form that is a common decoration during Day of the Dead, a Mexican holiday that begins Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. The Postal Service offered monstrous stamps in 1997.<\/strong>\u00a0Classic Movie Monsters featured Frankenstein, Dracula, the Phantom of the Opera, the Mummy and the Wolf Man.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Harry Houdini died Oct. 31, 1926.<\/strong>\u00a0The famed magician and escape artist was honored with a 37-cent stamp in 2002.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.
