He also stressed that employee and customer safety remain a top priority.<\/p>\n<p>Damage to the region is extensive. Cell service, electricity, clean water and other public infrastructure remain severely hampered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s [hectic], but we\u2019re resuming mail service,\u201d said Vieques, PR, Postmaster Pamela Parker.<\/p>\n<p>USPS is reminding employees that voluntary donations can be made to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.postalrelief.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Postal Employees\u2019 Relief Fund<\/em><\/a>\u00a0through Oct. 13 to assist those who have been affected by natural disasters.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/about.usps.com\/news\/service-alerts\/welcome.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>USPS Service Alerts page<\/em><\/a>\u00a0has additional updates.<\/p>\n<p>Source: USPS News Link<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A USPS vehicle carrying ready-to-eat meals and water travels to Lares, PR, last week.
