It just started up operations in Salt Lake City in the past month, drivers told Fox 13.<\/p>\n<p>But some independent contractors are saying it\u2019s led to unsettling experiences between drivers and customers.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday afternoon, Kelline Jones delivered more than 20 packages to various homes around Bountiful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was just sitting there when this route came available, so I thought I\u2019d take it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>When drivers pick up routes, Jones said they\u2019ll show up to the warehouse in West Valley City, grab a bunch of packages to put in their car, then take off on a delivery route pre-determined by Amazon.<\/p>\n<p>During deliveries, Jones usually walks up to a home with the package, takes a picture required by Amazon to show the package was delivered, then takes off.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the time no one answered the door on Monday, but sometimes people were home.<\/p>\n<p>Customers looked surprised to see Jones with their package.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople aren\u2019t sure what we\u2019re doing, why we\u2019re there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Jones explained to a woman that she delivers for Amazon Flex.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of people don\u2019t know that we\u2019re delivering,\u201d she said, to the customer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh okay&#8211; real people,\u201d the woman replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReal people,\u201d Jones said, with a laugh.
