{"id":20573,"date":"2017-08-11T15:49:34","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T20:49:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=20573"},"modified":"2017-08-11T15:49:34","modified_gmt":"2017-08-11T20:49:34","slug":"opm-announces-2017-fehb-open-season-dates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2017\/08\/11\/opm-announces-2017-fehb-open-season-dates\/","title":{"rendered":"OPM Announces 2017 FEHB Open Season Dates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) officially announced the dates for the 2017 <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>FEHB Open Season which will run from Monday, November 13 through Monday, <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>December 11, 2017.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the annual Open Season, employees can take the actions listed below for the Federal<br \/>\nFlexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS), Federal Employees Dental and Vision<br \/>\nInsurance Program (FEDVIP), and the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enroll in a flexible spending account (FSA) \u2013 a health care and\/or dependent care<br \/>\naccount, under the FSAFEDS Program. Unlike with other programs, employees MUST<br \/>\nreenroll in FSAFEDS each year to participate. Enrollments DO NOT automatically<br \/>\ncontinue from year to year.<br \/>\n&#8211; Carryover has been adopted for health care and limited expense health care FSAs.<br \/>\nParticipants that are enrolled in one of these FSAs in 2017 will be able to bring up<br \/>\nto $500 of unspent funds from 2017 into 2018. Participants must re-enroll for<br \/>\nthe 2018 Benefit Period to be eligible for carryover. Remember, there is not a<br \/>\ngrace period for these two accounts.<br \/>\n&#8211; The maximum annual election for a Health Care Flexible Spending Account and<br \/>\nthe Limited Expense Health Care Flexible Spending Account is $2600 for the<br \/>\n2018 Benefit Period.<br \/>\n&#8211; The minimum election for the flexible spending accounts is $100 for the 2018<br \/>\nBenefit Period.<br \/>\n&#8211; The maximum annual election for a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account<br \/>\nis $5000 per household for the 2018 Benefit Period. There is no carryover for this<br \/>\naccount, but there is a grace period.<br \/>\n?<\/li>\n<li>Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a dental plan under the FEDVIP<br \/>\nProgram.<\/li>\n<li>Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a vision plan under the FEDVIP<br \/>\nProgram.<\/li>\n<li>Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a health plan under the FEHB<br \/>\nProgram.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2018 FEHB and FEDVIP Premium Rates<\/strong><br \/>\nOPM will post FEHB and FEDVIP premium rates for 2018 in early October.
