{"id":20526,"date":"2017-08-07T15:49:15","date_gmt":"2017-08-07T20:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=20526"},"modified":"2017-08-07T15:49:15","modified_gmt":"2017-08-07T20:49:15","slug":"national-association-of-letter-carriers-membership-has-ratified-a-new-40-month-labor-contract-with-the-postal-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2017\/08\/07\/national-association-of-letter-carriers-membership-has-ratified-a-new-40-month-labor-contract-with-the-postal-service\/","title":{"rendered":"National Association of Letter Carriers membership has ratified a new 40-month labor contract with the Postal Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>8\/7\/17 &#8211; USPS News Link &#8211; <strong>New labor contract &#8211; Union ratifies 40-month deal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) membership has ratified a new 40-month labor contract with the Postal Service.<\/p>\n<p>The contract covers approximately 211,000 USPS employees represented by the union.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a fair, responsible agreement that serves the best interests of our employees, customers and other stakeholders,\u201d said Labor Relations VP Doug Tulino.<\/p>\n<p>The new agreement, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/2017\/05\/12\/new-labor-deal-2\/\">announced in May<\/a>, runs through Sept. 20, 2019.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>8\/7\/17 &#8211; NALC &#8211; <strong>New NALC-USPS Contract Is Ratified<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The active membership of the National Association of Letter Carriers has overwhelmingly ratified the proposed 2016-2019 National Agreement with the United States Postal Service. By a margin exceeding 16 to 1, eligible members voted to accept the tentative agreement that was announced on May 12.
