Brandler, the information alleges that Rice, a former sales associate of the United States Postal Service, misappropriated approximately $1,900 between May 2016 and October 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Under the terms of a plea agreement filed with the criminal information, Rice has agreed to enter a guilty plea and pay restitution. The plea agreement is subject to approval of the court.<\/p>\n<p>The case was investigated by the United States Postal Service, Office of the Inspector General. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carlo D. Marchioli is prosecuting the case.<\/p>\n<p>Criminal informations are only allegations. All persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-19149\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Justice1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The maximum penalty under federal law is ten years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the Judge is also required to consider and weigh a number of factors, including the nature, circumstances and seriousness of the offense; the history and characteristics of the defendant; and the need to punish the defendant, protect the public and provide for the defendant&#8217;s educational, vocational and medical needs.
