Hickton announced today.<\/p>\n<p>The one-count indictment named Stanley J. Hurley, 55, as the sole defendant.<\/p>\n<p>According to the indictment presented to the court, on or about April 21, 2010, Hurley, being a Postal Service employee, stole, abstracted and removed from a card which had been entrusted to him and had come into his possession intended to be conveyed by mail, two $20 bills.<\/p>\n<p>The law provides for a maximum total sentence of five years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.<\/p>\n<p>The United States Postal Service, Office of Inspector General, conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.<\/p>\n<p>An indictment or information is an accusation.
