{"id":18461,"date":"2017-03-02T19:23:55","date_gmt":"2017-03-03T00:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=18461"},"modified":"2017-03-02T19:23:55","modified_gmt":"2017-03-03T00:23:55","slug":"video-neighbor-steals-mail-then-steals-10k","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2017\/03\/02\/video-neighbor-steals-mail-then-steals-10k\/","title":{"rendered":"Video: Neighbor Steals Mail, Then Steals $10k"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border-width: 0;\" src=\"http:\/\/interactive.tegna-media.com\/video\/embed\/embed.html?id=2527788&amp;type=video&amp;title=Yup, The Neighbor Did It!&amp;site=83&amp;playerid=6918249996581&amp;dfpid=32805352&amp;dfpposition=Video_prestream_external\u00a7ion=home\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Heidi Kneisl was shocked to learn a neighbor stole her mail and was able to withdraw money from her savings accounts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My neighbor lived across the street from me and over for a little bit of time \u2013 and so it was pretty convenient for him to you know, go into my mailbox, which didn&#8217;t have a lock on it,&#8221; said Kneisl.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. postal inspectors found her mail along with 60 other victims in the home of Joseph Witchard.<\/p>\n<p>For Heidi, it hits closer to home. \u00a0She says Witchard must have watched her routine to know when he could take the mail.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was very violating\u2026 being alone in an apartment\u2026 finding out that somebody was actually going through my stuff, had my own personal things sent to his house and how easy it was for him to do so it was really disconcerting,&#8221; saie\u00a0Kneisl.<\/p>\n<p>Based on information gathered in several mail pieces, Witchard was able to withdraw $10-thousand dollars from Heidi&#8217;s savings accounts.
