The National Association Of Postal Supervisors<\/a> (NAPS) tells us that they contacted USPS HQ’s regarding President Trump’s hiring freeze and the response that USPS provided is below:<\/p>\n

NAPS received the following statement from USPS Headquarters on January 24, 2017 at 5:38 p.m. ET regarding the 2017 Hiring Freeze.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Postal Service provides an essential service to the people and businesses of the United States, and is a critical part of our nation\u2019s infrastructure.\u00a0 In view of our independent status, past Executive Orders imposing hiring freezes on Executive Departments and Agencies have not applied to the Postal Service.\u00a0 We have reached out to the Administration to discuss this matter.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
