Rosenstein and Special Agent in Charge Paul L. Bowman of the U.S. Postal Service, Office of Inspector General.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1em; color: #171e24; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 19.6px; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 1; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: #ffffff;\">According to her plea agreement, Allen was employed by the United States Postal Service as a city carrier at the Capital Heights, Maryland, Processing and Distribution Facility.\u00a0 On September 27, 2002, Allen filed an injury claim which qualified her for Worker\u2019s Compensation.\u00a0 Allen began receiving benefits in November 2002 from the Office of Worker\u2019s Compensation Programs (OWCP), including reimbursement for travel expenses for medical treatment related to her injury. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8129\" style=\"border: none;\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/dept-of-justice2.gif\" alt=\"dept-of-justice2\" width=\"220\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1em; color: #171e24; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 19.6px; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 1; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: #ffffff;\">Between July 2012 and September 2015, Allen received reimbursement for travel expenses for medical care related to one of her injury claims.\u00a0 This compensation was based on vouchers that Allen submitted for 721 trips to receive medical care.\u00a0 Allen admitted that approximately 27 of those trips were for medical care, while the remaining 694 were unrelated.\u00a0 Allen submitted numerous forms to OWCP falsely certifying that she had driven round trip from her home in Temple Hills to a doctor\u2019s office in Laurel, Maryland for medical treatment related to her injury. As a result, Allen fraudulently received $27,639.10 in travel reimbursements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1em; color: #171e24; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 19.6px; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 1; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: #ffffff;\">Allen faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.\u00a0 U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis scheduled Allen\u2019s sentencing for September 13, 2016, at 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1em; color: #171e24; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 19.6px; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 1; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: #ffffff;\">United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the U.S. Postal Service, Office of Inspector General for its work in the investigation.\u00a0 Mr. Rosenstein thanked Assistant U.S. Attorney Hollis R.
