McKinnon Sr. has<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apwu.org\/sites\/apwu\/files\/news-attachments\/EGS%20Numbering%20System.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">announced.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The system is designed to track all grievances that are appealed to Step 2 for locals that are using EGS.\u00a0 \u201cWhen a grievance is appealed to Step 2 by the local steward, a national number will be automatically generated for that EGS grievance form.\u00a0 The national number will not change the way locals conduct their grievance procedure.\u00a0 Locals will continue to create their own local grievance number as usual,\u201d McKinnon said.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-10087\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/1-APWU-New-300x157.jpg\" alt=\"1-APWU-New\" width=\"300\" height=\"157\" srcset=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/1-APWU-New-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/1-APWU-New.jpg 478w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The national number will follow a simple pattern based on the local union\u2019s group identification number in EGS, the year, and a six-digit number. \u201cFor example, if your local is APWU local 7070, then your national numbers would be EGS7070-15-000165,\u201d McKinnon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new system will provide a consistent format, an easy set up for search and most importantly automatically archive the file,\u201d he added.\u00a0 \u201cAs a result, the national union will be able to develop a clearer picture of what is happening in the field, gain insight into issues that may be happening in more than one location, while giving us the tools to assist us in resolving these issues as they arise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last\">\u201cWe thank the locals for your continued support in making EGS more user-friendly.
