{"id":13669,"date":"2016-01-06T09:01:43","date_gmt":"2016-01-06T14:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=13669"},"modified":"2016-01-06T09:01:43","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T14:01:43","slug":"video-texas-postal-vehicle-catches-fire-mail-destroyed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2016\/01\/06\/video-texas-postal-vehicle-catches-fire-mail-destroyed\/","title":{"rendered":"Video: Texas postal vehicle catches fire, mail destroyed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TYLER, TX (KLTV) &#8211; 1\/05\/16 &#8211; Folks in a Tyler neighborhood will be missing some mail Tuesday, after a mail truck caught fire.<\/p>\n<p>The fire happened around noon in the 1800 block of Holly Lake Circle.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When we arrived, the fire was fully involved and we extinguished the fire,&#8221; said Captain George Fletcher with the Tyler Fire Department,<\/p>\n<p>Fire officials say the call came in at 12:20 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I saw smoke out of the dining room window. I came outside and our mail carrier&#8217;s truck was on fire,&#8221; said resident Debbie Brewer.<\/p>\n<p>Brewer has lived in the neighborhood for 11 years and says she knows her mail carrier well.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This was a fill-in and he was standing in my yard he was quite nervous and upset. He threw out packages but he couldn&#8217;t save it all,&#8221; Brewer said.<\/p>\n<p>Postal officials say the vehicle is a total loss.
