{"id":12868,"date":"2015-11-02T10:04:18","date_gmt":"2015-11-02T15:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=12868"},"modified":"2015-11-02T10:04:18","modified_gmt":"2015-11-02T15:04:18","slug":"two-year-budget-approved-by-house-and-senate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2015\/11\/02\/two-year-budget-approved-by-house-and-senate\/","title":{"rendered":"Two-year Budget Approved by House and Senate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NPMHU &#8211; The U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate have approved a two-year budget agreement, reached after negotiations with the Obama Administration, that not only is unprecedented, but also does not include unfair attacks on federal and postal employees.\u00a0 Since 2010, such employees have been saddled with $159 billion in pay freezes and increased contributions to federal pension programs, with no additional benefits being enjoyed by the federal and postal civilian workforce.\u00a0 \u201cIt is about time that Congress could reach a budget agreement that doesn\u2019t try to stick it to our members and other postal and federal employees,\u201d said President Hogrogian.<\/p>\n<p>Included in this agreement are a suspension of the nation\u2019s debt limit until March 2017, and increases to federal spending, both domestic and defense.\u00a0 The agreement also means that the government will continuing operating, without disruption or threats of a shutdown, until the early part of the next President\u2019s Administration.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_101\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-101\" style=\"width: 495px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/mailhandlersunion.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-101\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/mailhandlersunion.gif\" alt=\"Nat.
