The result is a rising tide of packages with no good place to go.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. online retail sales are expected to swell to $334 billion in 2015, up from $263 billion in 2013, according to<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/quotes.wsj.com\/FORR\">Forrester Research<\/a><span class=\"company-name-type\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Inc.,<\/span><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>a research and advisory firm. Some say they\u2019re spending too much time sorting deliveries and running out of storage space.<\/p>\n<p>Camden Property Trust, the nation\u2019s 14th-largest apartment operator, has stopped accepting parcels at its 169 properties across the nation. Executives say each package means 10 minutes of lost productivity for its workers, costing the company more than $3 million a year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUltimately, this was going to eat our lunch,\u201d Keith Oden, Camden\u2019s president,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>told<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>The Wall Street Journal last week.<\/p>\n<p>Other property managers are taking different approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Avalon Bay Communities Inc. has experimented with installing package lockers \u2014 similar to the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gopost.usps.com\/go\/EPLAction\" target=\"_blank\">gopost<\/a><\/em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>lockers that USPS operates \u2014 while Equity Residential has mandated height and weight restrictions for packages.<\/p>\n<p>Other buildings are<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/link.usps.com\/2015\/08\/11\/doormans-dilemma\/\" target=\"_blank\">turning<\/a><\/em><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>janitors\u2019 closets into package rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Residents aren\u2019t interested in reducing their deliveries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPackage delivery is almost a basic amenity.
