The plans also offer possible tax savings.<\/p>\n<p>HDHPs combine a health savings account (HSA) or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) with traditional coverage, such as a health maintenance organization (HMO) or fee-for-service plan.<\/p>\n<p>These types of plans also have higher annual deductibles and annual out-of-pocket limits than other Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) plans.<\/p>\n<p>An HDHP automatically deposits a portion of your premium or a credit into your HSA or HRA.<\/p>\n<p>With the exception of preventive care, participants must meet the annual deductible before the plan pays benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Open season \u2014 the annual period when employees can make changes to their health coverage \u2014 starts Nov. 9.<\/p>\n<p>More information about HDHPs, including an<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/liteblue.usps.gov\/HDHPvideo1\">informational video<\/a><\/em>, is available on the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em>LiteBlue <a href=\"https:\/\/liteblue.usps.gov\/humanresources\/benefits\/elections\/openseason.shtml\">open season site<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ABCs of HDHPs Health coverage offers possible tax savings USPS News Link 10\/20\/15 Employees can choose high deductible health plans during this year\u2019s open season.
