Polite announced three separate criminal matters, charging United States Postal employees for theft of mail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">According to a four-count Indictment, on or about July 18, 2015, and again on or about July 22, 2015, <strong>ANISHA GALLIN<\/strong>, age 27, stole the contents of four first-class letters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">A second one-count Indictment alleges that, in or about December 2013,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>O\u2019NEIL EDWARDS<\/strong>, age 27, stole two $100 gift cards from mail sent from Las Vegas to Belle Chasse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">Lastly, a three-count Bill of Information charges that, on or about July 9, 2014,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>JOSHUA GRESHAM<\/strong>, age 27, removed $370 in cash from three greeting cards while on his postal route.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">If convicted, each defendant faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years, followed by three years of supervised release, a maximum fine of $250,000, and restitution, as to each count.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">U.S. Attorney Polite reiterated that the Indictments and Bill of Information merely contain charges and that the guilt of each defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">U.S. Attorney Polite praised the work of the U.S. Postal Service, Office of Inspector General for investigating this matter.\u00a0 Assistant U.S. Attorney G.
