The concept is part of the Postal Service\u2019s broader effort to grow its package delivery business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has really increased our productivity,\u201d said Wichita, KS, Customer Services Supervisor Scott Lehman. \u201cThe carriers can now load and go. They don\u2019t have to spend two hours trying to decipher the best delivery order of the packages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Wichita, after packages are scanned or an electronic manifest is provided for multiple parcels, employees use dynamic routing software to sort the data into 4-5 delivery routes \u2014 including delivery sequence and driving directions for letter carriers.<\/p>\n<p>Carriers said this approach allows them to work more efficiently. \u201cThe turn by turn driving instructions really help,\u201d said Wichita Letter Carrier Stacey Cordoba.<\/p>\n<p>Added Lehman: \u201cI like to say, \u2018Utilize the technology because it\u2019s good stuff.\u2019 It makes us more efficient, which is good for the Postal Service and our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call to order Dynamic routing improves package sorting, delivery USPS News &#8211;\u00a04\/15\/15 Wichita, KS, Customer Services Supervisor Scott Lehman and Postal Support Employee Esdras Guerrero.
