Kohl<br \/>\nstands near one of the test mailboxes.<\/h6>\n<p>The Postal Service has expanded its<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/liteblue.usps.gov\/news\/link\/2015\/01jan\/news21s1.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>test of larger mailboxes<\/em><\/a>\u00a0to rural and suburban communities in California, Colorado and North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>Customers in these areas recently received the test boxes, which are the same height as regular mailboxes but much wider to accommodate around 70 percent of boxes currently sent through the mail.<\/p>\n<p>The customers who volunteered to test the boxes are providing feedback to the Postal Service throughout the test period.<\/p>\n<p>Broomfield, CO, Letter Carrier J.D. Kohl predicts customers will find bigger boxes are better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can see that it will be a real convenience to the customer,\u201d said Kohl. \u201cThe box protects the package from the weather.
