{"id":10031,"date":"2015-02-10T10:25:15","date_gmt":"2015-02-10T15:25:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/?p=10031"},"modified":"2015-02-10T10:25:15","modified_gmt":"2015-02-10T15:25:15","slug":"conviction-of-new-orleans-postal-worker-for-tax-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/2015\/02\/10\/conviction-of-new-orleans-postal-worker-for-tax-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"Conviction of New Orleans Postal Worker for Tax Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>AG&#8217;s Office Obtains Conviction of New Orleans Postal Worker for Tax Fraud<\/h3>\n<p>As a result of a joint tax fraud investigation conducted by the Attorney General\u2019s Office and the Louisiana Department of Revenue, a New Orleans woman pleaded guilty on Friday in Baton Rouge to a violation of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:132, felony injuring public records, in order to defraud the state out of more than $16,000, announced Attorney General Buddy Caldwell. <a href=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/LA-Attorney-general.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10032\" src=\"https:\/\/postalemployeenetwork.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/LA-Attorney-general.jpg\" alt=\"LA Attorney general\" width=\"210\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>25-year-old Charnell Haymond, of 6921 Bunker Hill Road, was charged in April, 2014 with stealing personal information while employed by the U.S. Postal Service and then fraudulently filing a state tax return to steal over $16,000 from Louisiana. 19th Judicial District Court Judge Louis Daniel sentenced Haymond to five years in prison, which was suspended, and placed her on three years of supervised probation with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
