It’s difficult to come from the private sector where you’re the boss to the government, where everyone thinks they’re the boss. Obviously he’d had enough, but in the end a large component of this was that he was naive about what he was getting into; witness his promise to break even in 2023. Rather than putting everything on the table, he caved to the unions and their insistence on six day delivery. Now it’s the law. As time went on, it became clear that to achieve break even service would suffer. The problem is that other factors were already negatively affecting service and a perfect storm formed. The USPS has yet to get the RPDC model to perform with the minimal staffing they were counting on. Apparently the NALC was prepared to help Dejoy by agreeing to a horrible TA until its members revolted, showing Renfroe who was actually “ mad as hell.” Some if not most of the DFA can’t be undone and it shouldn’t be. At least Dejoy attempted to devise a comprehensive plan to put the USPS on a better financial path; none of his predecessors even tried. The question is who would want this job? How are they going to respond to the inevitable “when are you going to be profitable” questions? Hopefully this will go back to the debate that should have occurred years ago but didn’t before DFA. Is the USPS a business or a service? Whatever the answer, service must be improved.

<strong><em>Spot on. There are/were many totally against DeJoy for the simple fact that he was/is a Trump supporter. As you said, I have said hundreds of time...DeJoy is the ONLY PMG that I can remember that actually tried to FIX USPS. I actually hate to see him go
