Wyoming needs local post offices and access to local mail delivery services. Your proposal does not serve Wyoming residents well. The existing process has been beneficial for Wyoming. Centralizing services will create less efficiency. The postal service was created to be a service to the citizens. The USPS needs to concentrate on serving local communities well. I see this proposal as greatly flawed. Rather concentrate on streamlining the local post offices where it is needed.

Bob – mail in smaller areas/cities/towns all across the USA has been processed in larger cities/areas and then transported back to the city of delivery – not ALL cities, but most cities. This has been the norm for many many years.

We DO NOT NEED 6-day per week mail delivery, a general 3-day per week delivery would more than suffice as most people now get paperless bills and 1st class mail in this ever-more digital age. Independent express carriers (FEDEX, UPS, DHL, etc) are supported by their users and are growing capitalistic companies, not government subsidies.

To my point and a quote directly from Postmaster General DeJoy, “…our service requirements, facilities infrastructure, business rules and operating practices have continued to reflect a Postal Service designed for three decades ago. However, since 1997, we’ve seen an 80-percent decline in Single-Piece First Class Mail volume…”

We need to change to USPS but NOT in the way (more subsidies) that they propose.
