The part about the increased costs of health insurance read…”premiums will increase if you currently are covered by the consumer driven APWU health plan” It should go on to say that if the APWU (along with the NALC) gets its way on the proposed Postal Reform bill with its mandated Medicare coverage for all Postal retirees (over age 65) will further increase health insurance costs. In addition, this change (if approved ) will do away with the defined prescription drug plan that we now have under the Federal Employee Healthcare Plan!! So in addition to the increased costs of including medicare you’ll also have to pay more for any prescription drugs you’ll need!! This could be a big “game changer” for someone out there thinking about possibly taking the early out or just thinking about retiring, period!! I think this needs to be mentioned, because it is a possibility and an employee thinking about retiring need to have this information to make the right decision…because they will have to live with it for quite awhile!!
