  1. The custodians in our office deliver mail everyday, should this work be given to clerks?

  2. some smal offices still to this day utilize clerks on a daily basis of carrying mail without even having them change their duty status to the city carrier craft, thus being a office that gets smaller and smaller.thanks beit that everybodyt goes 204b and delivers mail and boxes mail while in the 204b and superviser position. That is having sometimes three members of management on the roster during p.m hours of operation.Well you know 204b pays well ,so does limited duty.AWE THE POSTAL FAMILY. RETIRED LETTERCARRIER AND OUTCAST,LOL.G WHIZ

  3. When I was a clerk, (29 years ago) Management used this guise all the time and I was Carrying City-Routes 3-days a week!! In strict violation of the NALC Contract…I went along with it then, I was a PTF and needed the hours. I’m a City-Carrier now and am against this “New Position” !!

  4. You notice the job description title is “Special Delivery Messenger” on the tail end, which, I guess, is how they justified the position. Since I’ve been in the post office, nothing is ever done like the paper description. They will probably be delivering EVERYTHING. Just another way to scheme and try to get around contract agreements. 5. How can APWU and usps create position which violates NALC contract. Clerks cannot just deliver mail, except for emergencies and express mail

  6. This is nothing new. Thirty years ago they were called Dual Appointments. Just be prepared to have very few if any days off, never make a medical or dential appointment unless it is on a postal holliday and be too tired to spend what you make. Otherwise it is a good paying job.
