I am told most postal workers put these in the trash and dont really deliver to “every door”. One postal delivery worker told me there is a trash BIN for EDDM not delivered. He also told me they will put some on the first coupole of streets, skip houses that dont have mail that day. By the end of the day, he might put in one or two a street.
Its sucks for small business to be so uncertain about the service.

You must have been talking to a disgruntled postal employee. What he/she told you is not what the huge majority of postal employees do…that is not how they complete their jobs. If they did do this they would get caught pretty fast. PEN

There is an opt out process in EDDM, but businesses generally ignore it. They just look for the kickback for their “investment” – They’re willing to annoy 1,000 others to get 10 calls. It’s deplorable. The USPS needs to do what is done in every other country that does simplified addressing – take opt outs directly. Often times it’s just a sign or sticker on your mail box.

EDDM ABSOLUTELY SUCKS FOR THE CONSUMER. POSTAL CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO OPT OUT & NOT BE FORCE FED YOUR MARKETING GARBAGE. IT’S NOT JUST ONE POST CARD. IT’S ONE POST CARD OR CIRCULAR OR MENU FROM EVERY MERCHANT WHO SIGNS UP FOR THIS PLAN, THEREBY INUNDATING A HOME OWNER’S MAILBOX WITH UNWANTED GARBAGE HEADED STRAIGHT FOR A LANDFILL. MY POLICY IS THAT IF YOU SEND ME A PIECE OF EDDM, I WILL BOYCOTT YOUR BUSINESS AND INSTRUCT MY NEIGHBORS TO DO THE SAME. WE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ACTUALLY KEEP TABS ON WHO SENDS US THIS UNWANTED JUNK & WE AVOID PATRONIZING THOSE BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS, EVEN WHEN WE MAY HAVE PATRONIZED THEM IN THE PAST OF OUR OWN FREE WILL. …THERE ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE AN ‘OPT OUT’ OPTION AND AN EFFECTIVE WAY FOR POSTAL CUSTOMERS TO GET THEIR ADDRESSES OFF THIS GODFORSAKEN LIST. MY MAILBOX IS NOT YOUR GARBAGE CAN!

EDDM is a waist and one should be able to opt out of such service. I do not want to be contact nor have to deal with the crap dished out by the USPS system! EDDM is completely against the orginal intent of the USPS system.

The problem I have is that the US postal employess. Are not aware of the program. And I have lost over $15,000 in less that 30 days. Because of the employess not being trained and mail not being delivery on time.
