USPS Board of Governors Added Three Members

L-R: Anton Hajjar, Amber McReynolds, Ron Stroman

USPS 7/20/21 – The USPS Board of Governors recently added three members:

• Anton Hajjar, former general counsel of the American Postal Workers Union;

• Amber McReynolds, chief executive officer of the National Vote at Home Institute; and

• Ron Stroman, former Deputy Postmaster General.

The U.S. Senate confirmed the new members after their nomination by President Joe Biden earlier his year.

The governors are the principal officers of the Postal Service. The board is similar to a board of directors, conducting long-range planning and setting strategic policies, among other duties.

The Postal Leadership section of usps.com has more information about the board.

  1. As a small business owner I hope that the new board members address the virtual snails pace of international parcels. What used to take 4-6 weeks is taking 8-10, sometimes as long as 12 weeks to arrive overseas. In our 36 yrs in business we’ve had perhaps less than a dozen parcels delayed. Since last March we’re up to 4 dozen. USPS no longer includes tracking with postage costs for First Class domestic nor international parcels which means not only can we not follow the parcel but we can’t prove it was delivered. That’s an extra outrageous charge. We have to depend on the customers honesty. PayPal will not reimburse for parcels not arriving in a timely fashion. USPS forces us to wait 90 days to file claims while PayPal has a 48 day minimum. These policy changes are effecting revenue for businesses
