SOUTH LYON, Mich. (WXYZ) – A tree fell on a postal worker delivering the mail in South Lyon Friday.

Fire department officials said a very large old tree fell on him while he was walking delivering mail around 11:30 a.m.

Witnesses at a nearby restaurant heard the tree fall and found the mailman trapped underneath.

“As we were looking we heard a voice,” Sean Phillips said. “So we looked a little closer and we thought we heard the mailman crying for help. He said, ‘Please help. Please someone.’
