Man who threatened Reno postal worker with knife had just gotten out of California prison

A man was arrested after holding a knife to an employee at Reno’s U.S. Post Office on Monday, a news release from the Reno Police Department said.

At around 1:53 p.m., officers responded to the U.S. Post Office located on the 100 block of North Sierra Street on a report of an armed robbery. According to police, the suspect entered the building, “jumped the service counter, walked to the rear of the post office and approached the employees while holding a large knife.”

The suspect allegedly held a knife to one of the employee’s throat and “threatened to slit his throat if he was not given money,” the release said. The suspect was later identified as 44-year-old Anthony Craig. Police said Craig was released from a Stockton, Calif. prison the previous day
