Video: Mail stolen from USPS cluster boxes in Texas neighborhood

AUSTIN (KXAN) — When Chris Keel went to get his mail on Tuesday, he found that the entire cluster of mailboxes at the Woods of Westlake Heights neighborhood were broken into.

The doors of the mailboxes were flung open and it appeared that all the mail was taken. Keel said his neighborhood got the alert Tuesday morning. Read more at KXAN Austin

If it seems you’re reading more and more about USPS cluster boxes being robbed you are correct. Simply put, mail delivered to cluster boxes has little to no protection from thieves. In PEN’s opinion this type theft will continue to increase across the nation.

    Happened in y neighborhood too off of Oltorf – Post Office assumes NO responsibility. Forcing us to drive to them or pay several thousand to replace the cluxter boxes from a third party vendor. Why can we not get home delivery?
