Video: Dogs attack Illinois mailmen

GEORGETOWN, Ill. (WAND) – “We’ve had three attacks this fiscal year,” Alicia Ford, the Georgetown Postmaster says. “All three of them have been bites.”

Dogs attacking mail carriers is on the rise in Vermillion County’s Georgetown.

“First one it did break the skin. Second one it did not, it just bruised the carrier. Third one she actually had to have stitches on her wrist and she is going through physical therapy,” Ford says.

The United States Post Office says they’re seeing more aggressive dogs.

“In 13 delivery days we had 25 dogs come towards carriers,” Ford says. WAND TV
