Video: Postal inspectors search for suspects who stole San Antonio mail carrier’s truck

Postal inspectors are asking for your help to identify and find three suspects who stole mail from a postman earlier last month.

Inspectors say a rural postal carrier stopped at a gas station on Huebner and Bandera Road. The postal worker parked at the gas pump and walked inside as the suspects left the store. That’s when a man wearing a red ball cap and black shirt went into the postal worker’s Chevy Silverado and drove away.

“It was the mail that had been sorted out for that route for the entire day,” postal inspector Michael Martinez-Partida.

Investigators say the two other suspects left in a champagne colored vehicle.

Postal inspectors admit there has been an increase in reported mail thefts in our area.

“We’re working more investigations. We’re also working with other law enforcement agencies to ensure we’re all sharing information,” Martinez-Partida said.

Try to get a word to the post office about missing, lost, or stolen mail – good luck. In the meantime honest and law abiding citizens get injured (i.e. cancelled medical insurance due to lost enrollment forms and checks). What do citizens do? What can we do?
