Postal Service & FedEx Renew Contract

2/23/17 – The U.S. Postal Service is pleased to execute a four year renewal to extend the Air Cargo Network (ACN) contract with FedEx through September 29, 2024. The competitively awarded contract began October 1, 2013, and provides domestic air transportation for Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express. This contract modification aligns capacity with Postal demand, provides operational flexibility and service enhancements, and results in reduced costs for the Postal Service. FedEx is the largest provider of air transportation capacity to the Postal Service. The Postal Service and FedEx have had a longstanding business relationship since 2001. FedEx Extends Express Air Transportation Contract With United States Postal Service

MEMPHIS, Tenn., February 23, 2017—FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) today announced that its FedEx Express subsidiary has entered into an extension to the express air transportation contract with the United States Postal Service originally executed on April 23, 2013.  The contract modification extends the agreement through September 29, 2024.

The modified contract is expected to generate revenue of approximately $1.5 billion per year for FedEx Express.  FedEx Express will provide airport-to-airport transportation of USPS Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail within the United States.
