A Lafayette, LA man wants answers after a neighbor captured video of a mail truck knocking down his mailbox.

Allen Cornett says it happened on December 19. He was told the driver was a contracted postal service employee for the holidays.

Cornett said he filed a claim and has submitted estimates. Interestingly though, the carrier still puts Cornett’s mail in the fallen mailbox after he asked not to do so. More

  1. When do we contract out delivery?

Cin – you would need to ask the official USPS your question. But, I think USPS contracts out delivery during major holiday periods such as Christmas. Certainly there are other reasons and times – so USPS would have to address your question. Rick – PEN
