The independent agency that audits Postal Service programs and operations has delivered its latest Semiannual Report to Congress.

The report highlights the work of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) during the six-month period that ended March 31.

The agency issued 74 audit reports, management advisories and white papers on a range of topics during these six months. The Postal Service accepted 92 percent of the OIG’s recommendations.

The OIG also completed 1,955 investigations that led to 370 arrests and almost $1.4 billion in fines, restitutions and recoveries. More than $10 million was turned over to the Postal Service.
