Executive Vice President Ivan Butts particpated in a staff briefing held by the Senate Commitee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs. Butts, along with other postal stakeholders briefed Senate staff on the particulars surrounding the Postal Service. Specifically, Butts discussed the challenges the Postal Service is facing due to the ongoing retiree health benefit pre-funding mandate. In addition, Butts addressed issues such as declining service standards, alternative forms of revenue generation and the need for the USPS to innovate in all sectors. Butts also outlined NAPS proposal for expanding MSPB protection for an additional 7,500 EAS personnel.
